The Pop Winans Story

This book is a concise and component look into the life of my father, David Winans – effectually known as Skippy, Dave, Elder, and Pops. As for me, I called him, DADDY. And if my memory serves me correct, so did most, if not all, of my siblings did the same. In this effort of enlightenment, I chose to focus on the power of forgiveness and how, because of it, my father’s life story is far beyond ordinary. His challenges at an early age would be considered normal today – a fatherless home and a single mother. Yet in this story, we come into the beautiful realization of GOD’S Word – how the favor of GOD not only exists, but when embraced, He, Father Yah, writes the final chapter of our lives. And how his unwavering WORD stands above all.Daddy’s story could have only been birthed through the love GOD’S Word provides. To witness the magnitude of forgiveness in one’s life, is truly something great to behold—and beyond the shadow of a doubt, a benefit for the entire world. Though I would prefer that everyone on the planet had the opportunity to just meet my dad, even if for a mere five minutes, I am certain most would have been better for it. But that is not an option. So, for those of you who never had a chance to meet him, this book is for you. Though I am known as a writer of songs and poems, I’ve tried to share something valuable in my first book.
